At Embark Physio we are passionate about getting you moving! Overall, people around the world are moving less and less. It is leading to numerous health issues and limiting people’s abilities to enjoy life the way they could.
The World Health Organization recommends that those 18+ should at a minimum participate in:
- 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic exercise over the course of a week.
- 2 days a week of muscle strength training.
These recommendations are applicable to those living with disabilities and over the age of 65. There are special considerations for disabilities with exercise restrictions, such as with muscular dystrophies and atrophies.
Meeting these recommendations prevents chronic health conditions, improves mental health, and helps you maintain a healthy weight. This ultimately keeps you living an independent and enjoyable life.
